In May 2011 we began work on a second piece of land to convert it from being disused into a productive food growing space.  The land adjacent to 689 London Rd, Isleworth, is owned by The National Trust and we’ve secured a ten year lease to use the space. See the map below for directions.

On 15th June 2011, Cultivate London staff and trainees were joined by M&G Investments sales team to build two very large polytunnels.  While it was a long day full of hard, physical work we had much fun and many laughs.  A strong bond between our two organisations was formed and we are very thankful to M&G Investment for their hard work and support.

Once water was finally connected to the site in …. October (thanks Thames!), we grew a fabulous crop of Black Tuscan Kale, Red Russian Kale, Bright Lights Chard, Radiccio Trevesco and Pak Choi. On October 26th we held a Volunteer Day to clear away remaining brambles, dig paths and create fabulous new outdoor beds.
